Responsive Web Design
Does your website work on a smartphone?

Responsive Web Design allows your website to be easily used on any screen from a desk top monitor to a smartphone. There is nothing more annoying than trying to use a website that hasn’t been built to work on a smartphone… zooming in and moving left and right to read the text. In fact, it’s so annoying that in a recent Google study;

48% of people surveyed said that if a website didn’t work well on their smartphones, it made them feel like the company didn’t care about their business!

Free mobile website test

responsive web designUsing our free responsive web design testing tool to the right, you can check to see if your website will work well on a smartphone. All you need to do is put in your website address and click “Test Now”.

If your website uses responsive web design, there will be no horizontal scroll bar and the website will be easy to read and use. If there is a horizontal scroll bar, your website is not mobile friendly and when viewed on an actual smartphone, it will be quite difficult to use. On the test screen you won’t be able to see the whole width of the website.

Most smartphones will shrink the web page to fit the width of the smartphone screen, so websites that aren’t responsive are more likely to be ignored in favour of a website that is easier to use. Leave the box ticked and we’ll get in touch to help you make your website responsive.

What is Responsive Web Design?

Responsive Web Design is not a specific technique but an attitude. It is a way of building websites that considers the user’s needs based upon the technology and software they are using to view your website.

For instance, if the viewer is using a full size iPad, they will probably want your website to act just like it does if they were using a laptop. But if they’re using a smartphone, they want the text to be larger and easier to read, images to shrink, the layout to be reformatted and features added – like a “click to call” button to allow them to contact your business easily.

How much does Responsive Web Design cost?

Responsive Web Design does take longer than building a website that will only work on a standard monitor, so you should expect it to cost perhaps $500-$1000+ more, depending on the features you require and how complicated the website templates are.  Find out more about mobile web design cost here or…
